BRIEF
Microsoft has made a commitment to being carbon negative by 2030 and stated publicly that companies who can move faster should do so. They wanted to make the packaging and user guides for their Surface Earbuds more sustainable. We were asked to use our technical and digital expertise to help them.
SOLUTION
We integrated QR codes into the packaging, making it more compact and eliminating the printed user guide. Explanatory iconography instead of text instructions reduced localization needs and saved space while providing maximum global effectiveness. We also localized the Surface App and Surface Audio App, across the Microsoft Store, iOS and Android. The entire process ISO certified ensuring a framework for security and quality to manage the innovation.
IMPACT
Customers were directly connected to the relevant app store for a faster, simpler, more dynamic set-up and user journey.
