Years ago, we helped Heartland Produce Co., a produce wholesaler, introduce branded packaging under the names Fresh Indeed! and Organic Indeed! Segmentation within the category drove the need for a broader approach that could be activated seasonally or for specific categories of produce, like organic, tropical and local. New packaging equipment created an opportunity for product-specific graphics for citrus products, which required a unique approach while still connecting to the packaging system as a whole.


Our design overhaul dramatically elevated the presence of the brands in store and created strong differentiation between lines. The bright and friendly visual cues convey the appropriate sense of place, from Midwest farm to tropical forest. The Organic Indeed! brand is distinct but related, helping to build brand recognition. Since some packages are used for a variety of produce items, visuals had to work across them all, making product windows extremely important. New product-specific packs provided an opportunity to add taste appeal and impact.


Our design system has enabled seamless rollout of organic and seasonal offerings while building a strong brand with consumer appeal. Spark’s collaborative process and print expertise made rollout easy, while providing a superior quality outcome.
